As I write this its pouring with rain outside and my office is colder than an Eskimo’s fridge. it seems that the weather down here in Cape Town has decided to take a turn for the worse and we can look forward to a couple of cold winter’s days this week.
Luckily I have some awesome work to keep me busy after getting the go ahead to start work on our company’s website design. As this is my very first web dev job I’m quite excited for it and its going to be quite an experience as I’ve got absolutely no HTML experience at all other than a few odds and ends that I’ve pottered around with on this blog. As they say though, there’s no time like the present so I’m going to grab this opportunity and take it in my stride as a challenge to be overcome.I’ll fire up Notepad ++ and try my best to come up with an interesting design that should hopefully suffice for our small accounting firm. I’ve been meaning to get around to learning HTML so this is the perfect opportunity for me to get my hands dirty and learn a bit while making the site. Wish me luck!
Whew! now that the month end rush is finally over and done with in the office I can take a breath and pop up a quick post just to fill you in with the latest happenings. So without further ado here’s a nifty little bullet point list:
- I’ve managed to grab two copies of Crackdown so that I can have a fun co-op session with Newlande over Live and try to hunt the remaining 200 agility orbs that have eluded me so far in the game. Playing Prototype recently has really gotten me into the mood for the fun open world setting that Crackdown presents so I’m looking forward to losing myself in that game for a couple of hours.
- I caught Transformers 2 with my friend Ryan this past weekend and to be honest I’d rather not say too much about the movie. All that i will say is that as a film fan I was not impressed in the slightest with Michael Bay’s latest “film”, although your results may vary.
- I’ve also been hard at work trying to finalise my outstanding accounting assignments so that I can do the board exam for SAIPA this November. Hopefully everything should work out okay but as my academic career ended in 2003 I’m struggling to get in the study rhythm.
- I’ve read quite a good post by Lester from Afrigator that’s given me some real nifty ideas for future blogging so hopefully I can get my ass in gear with some more posts soon.
Stay tuned.
