Cruising

My Saturday’s nearly over and so once again I’m hitting the post Saturday depression. Winding down the weekend is always a chore. You feel that somehow the coming week will be even more lacklustre and boring than the last one. I suppose the majority of the time this isn’t true due to fact that something always comes up to enliven your week. It just seems like it never will be more ‘exciting’ than the last one.

I just had a long PES6 session playing some Master League and this really did nothing to cheer me up. The player selection is atrocious and keeps on switching control to an out of place defender leading to plenty of AI goals. Your default team is also pathetic and a disgrace to all that is football. Don’t get me wrong. PES6 is still the pinnacle of football games and outshines FIFA 07 once again by the slimmest of margins. Its just that these small niggles add up to a frustrating experience that can drive you up the wall when your team performs like a bunch of clowns. I can’t wait to see how Seabass and the team will implement PES on the PS3 and Xbox 360 and how they’ll hopefully use all that computing power to give us a truly realistic interpretation of the beautiful game.

One good piece of football news is that Manchester United once again took a step closer towards the English Premiership trophy with an emphatic 4 – 1 win against an outclassed Bolton Wanderers team. With two goals each from Rooney and Park, Man U had the game in the bag from early in the first half. the only bad bit of news was an injury to Gary Neville that will keep him out for the next three weeks. I was really glad that Park managed to bag a brace of goals. I really think he is one of the most committed players at United and deserved it. Speaking of committed players, Alan Smith came on for his first taste of Premiership football in nearly 14 months since his horrific injury against Liverpool.

Something Fishy

Boy, what a week its been. I’ve never felt so drained in my whole life. This week was a real crunch time to get out 9 Cape Town Fish Market month ends by the 15th. Having never done any of them before I was fortunate enough to get 2 of the easy ones. :)

Nonetheless it was still a real grind to get them out. Thank goodness for the joy that is Katamari Damarcy. The most relaxing game ever without a doubt. With some of the most amusing music and visuals and added to its beautifully ‘happy’ feel, this makes the perfect winding down game for any office worker.

Sunday coming down

What a weekend its been. All of my Saturday I was out in Stellenbosch with a friend chatting up an anime storm and eating some of the best Asian food imaginable. Its always great to just chill with friends. I suppose this is why we put up with work weeks that make us feel so rotten. At my core you could say I’m a Monday Monkey who works for the weekend, but then aren’t we all. :)
